Our Story all about Soccer

From the Sidelines to the Sandbox

The Rising XI started where many youth soccer journeys begin — standing on the sideline with a lukewarm coffee and a folding chair.

In our house, the game is part of our DNA. Dad brought the lifelong passion, having played from elementary school through college. Mom quickly mastered the “soccer mom” lifestyle — juggling weekend tournaments, halftime snacks, and grass-covered car rides home.

When our oldest took their first kicks at age four, we joined a local recreational league “just for fun.” But like many families, soccer quickly became part of our weekly rhythm: practices during the week, games on the weekend, and plenty of backyard training sessions.

The Learning Curve

As a family navigating the massive and competitive Texas youth soccer world, we often felt a little lost. The system was big, complex, and sometimes confusing.

We kept asking the same questions many parents ask:

  • Which club is actually the right fit for our child?

  • When is the right time to move from recreational to competitive soccer?

  • How can we practice at home without turning it into a battle?

So we did what many soccer parents do — we asked other parents on the sideline, watched how different teams trained, and slowly figured things out through experience.

Over time, we realized something important: almost everyone around us was asking the same questions.

Enter The Rising XI

That realization inspired us to create The Rising XI.

This is a place where soccer parents can find practical advice, simple backyard drills, and honest insights from families going through the same journey.

Because behind every confident young player on the field, there’s usually a family learning the game right alongside them. ⚽

If you’re a soccer parent trying to figure things out one practice and one game at a time, you’re in the right place.
